Neil taught his first guitar lesson when he was just sixteen years old. Since then he has developed his own approaches and methodologies with a proven track record of success – many of Neil’s pupils have gone on to study at the country’s top conservatoires and music colleges, including the Royal Northern College of Music, Leeds Conservatoire (formerly Leeds College of Music), BIMM, and the Academy of Contemporary Music.
After graduating from the Academy of Contemporary Music in 2005 with a second class honours degree in Popular Music Performance, Neil has gone on to teach people of all ages and abilities, across all disciplines of the instrument. He has also been an examiner with London College of Music Examinations, previously known as the Registry of Guitar Tutors, for over ten years. His own extensive and varied performance career means he is perfectly placed to offer valuable insight and wisdom into the skills required to make a career in today’s music industry, but he is also deeply passionate and enthusiastic about music and is able to pass this on to even the most casual learners.
